Yes. The main 55+ community inside East Windsor Township is Riviera at East Windsor, and there are several more within a short drive in Hightstown, Cranbury, Plainsboro, West Windsor and Robbinsville.

Here's what buyers should know when they start looking on this side of Mercer County:

  1. Riviera at East Windsor is the big one in town. According to 55places, it has about 375 single-family homes built between 2004 and 2010, and it's gated. Everything there is a resale, so you're watching for listings rather than picking a lot.

  2. Some Riviera homes carry a Cranbury mailing address. The zip code is 08512, which covers parts of East Windsor and Cranbury. Always confirm the municipality, because that decides your tax bill.

  3. Enchantment at Hightstown is right next door. Hightstown Borough sits inside East Windsor, and Enchantment is a smaller community of around 73 homes.

  4. Want new construction? Look a few minutes away. 55places lists Regency at Cranbury and Regency at West Windsor as newer communities, and Springside Lofts in Robbinsville is a condo option still being built.

  5. Look closely at the HOA. Ask for the budget, what the monthly fee covers (lawn, snow, roofs, clubhouse), and whether any special assessments are planned.

  6. Think about your daily routine. East Windsor puts you near Route 130, Route 33 and the Turnpike, which matters if you'll be visiting grandkids in Central Jersey or driving to doctors in Princeton or Plainsboro.

Inventory in any single 55+ community is thin, so it helps to look at two or three side by side and be ready when the right home comes up.
