We recently worked with Fred Gomberg to purchase a new home in Mercer County, NJ. Working with Fred as a buyer's agent was a fantastic experience. We were moving from out of state and had a very specific list of wants and needs, and Fred and his staff did a great job of keeping an eye on MLS listings and sending us everything that we might be interested in. Fred is very easy-going and low pressure - it took us almost a year and a half to find the right house and we never felt any pressure to make offers on properties that weren't what we wanted. At the same time, Fred did make us aware of similar properties that almost met our needs, which helped us focus and narrow down on what we really wanted. Fred's communication was fantastic, he almost always answered the phone when we called, and if he couldn't he would call back promptly. He was also extremely flexible about scheduling calls late in the evening, which was helpful for us as parents, and on many occasions we stayed up late on Zoom calls reviewing listings. When looking at a listing, Fred would go the extra mile to pull up documents such as the property history and the seller's disclosure and review them with us, making sure we really understood as much about the property as possible. We also benefited from the larger Berkshire-Hathaway family, as Fred was able to recommend services such as mortgage brokers and title companies that he had worked with in the past, which really helped make the loan qualification and closing processes smooth. And on rare occasions when we wanted to look at a property and Fred wasn't available, another agent from his team met us and did a great job in his stead. Finally, Fred knows a huge number of people in real estate in the area, and we were often able to benefit from his personal connections - a quick call to a colleague and he could explain why a price was reduced or a property removed from the market. When we did make an offer, Fred and the seller's agent (whom he knew) were in constant communication allowing final negotiations to proceed quickly and smoothly. Buying a new home and moving to a new state is a daunting process. Every step of the way, Fred was there to provide us with prompt information and advice. We couldn't have done it without him, and we feel very fortunate to have been able to benefit from his services.
